Alessandro Balducci
Full professor of Planning and Urban Policies at Politecnico di Milano
Alessandro Balducci is a full professor of Planning and Urban Policies at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies, Politecnico di Milano. He has been city planning councillor of the City of Milan, Vice-rector of the Politecnico di Milano. He has chaired the Association of the European Schools of Planning (AESOP), The National Center for Urban Policy Studies (Urban@it) and the Italian Society of Urban Planners (SIU). He is the author numerous articles and essays and author, editor or co-editor of 25 books on issues of urban planning and urban change. Among them: Post-Metropolitan Territories: Looking for a New Urbanity (Routledge, 2017), Situated Practices of Strategic Planning (Routledge 2017), Risk and Resilience (Springer 2020), Cities learning from a pandemic. Towards preparedness, (Routledge 2022). He recently edited the 57th Annal of the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation entitled The Invisible City. What we do not see is changing metropolises (Feltrinelli 2023).
